FAI Awards 2023

1. Award for Excellence for the Best Work done in the field of Plant Nutrition

Nature of the Award: Rs.2,00,000/-, Gold Medal and Citation.

Purpose of the Award: To create incentive for high quality research amongst scientists in India in the field of Plant Nutrition

Eligibility of the Award: All research scientists working in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on their published research work during the past 10 years preceding the year of the award.

How to apply: PDF file (Soft/ Electronic copy) of the research work done during last ten years in the format of the review paper appearing in the Indian Journal of Fertilisers duly vetted by the controlling authority of applicant should be mailed to [email protected] . The PDF of the best 10 papers emanating from the research work submitted for award should also be mailed as a separate file.

Synopsis not exceeding 20 pages (in 1.5 line spacing & 12 font size) should be organised as follows.

– Introduction clearly bringing out the context of undertaking the research
– Brief resume of the salient research achievements corroborated by the publications thereon (citing the references) clearly   bringing out advancements in basic/strategic/ problem solving/applied research in the form of concepts,technologies developed and patents obtained etc.
– Contributions of research on advancements in field of plant nutrition, and its socio-economic relevance.
– Conclusions listing at least four most important contributions.
– References of only those papers cited in the synopsis.

2. Award for Outstanding Doctoral Research in Fertilizer Usage

Nature of Award: Rs.1,00, 000/-, Gold Medal and Citation.

Purpose of the Award: To motivate high quality fundamental or applied research amongst doctoral students in India in the field of fertilizer usage.

Eligibility of the Award: All doctoral students in India whose thesis have been accepted for the Ph.D. degree during April 2022 to March 2023 are eligible for the award.

How to Apply: Soft copy in PDF format vetted by the Competent Authority in the prescribed form along with PDF of the detailed summary of Ph.D research work done and a PDF of thesis should be mailed to [email protected] . The form can be downloaded from the FAI website www.majakir.net .

3. IPI-FAI Award for Promoting Balanced and Integrated Fertilizer Use with Emphasis on Potassium

Nature of the Award: Rs.2,00,000/-, Gold Medal and Gold Medal and Certificate; it is instituted by the International Potash Institute (IPI), Zug, Switzerland and administered by 91反差前女友, New Delhi.

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise outstanding research & extension work done by the scientists/extension specialists for promoting balanced and integrated use of fertilizers with emphasis on potassium.

Eligibility of the Award: All scientists/extension specialists working in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on outstanding research and extension work done and extension literature published and disseminated during the past 10 years preceding the year of award.

How to apply: PDF file (Soft/ Electronic copy) of the research & extension work done during last ten years in the format of the review paper appearing in the Indian Journal of Fertilisers duly vetted by the controlling authority of applicant should be mailed to [email protected] . 4. Award ON Transfer of Improved Farm Technologies

Nature of the Award: Trophy and Certificate.

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise innovative work on Transfer of Improved Farm Technologies by the fertilizer companies.

Eligibility of the Award: All fertilizer companies in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on innovative work done in the field of Transfer of Farm Technology during the last 5 years preceding the year of award.

How to Apply: PDF of the synopsis along with PDFs of published literature on the innovative work done during the last 5 years should be mailed to [email protected] .

5. Award on Production, Promotion and Marketing of Biofertilizers/Organic Fertilizers/City Compost

Nature of Award : Trophy and Certificate.

Purpose of the Award :To encourage and recognise quality production, promotion and marketing of biofertilizers, organic fertilizers and city compost.

Eligibility of the Award : All biofertilizers/organic fertilizers/city compost producing companies in India are eligible for the award. The assessment shall be based on the information supplied by the company on the prescribed performa.

How to Apply: Soft copy PDF of completely filled proforma should be mailed to [email protected] . The proforma cab be downloaded from the FAI website www.majakir.net .

6. FAI Award on Application of ICT/ Digital Transactions in Agriculture

Nature of the Award: Trophy and Certificate

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise innovative ICT initiatives/Digital Transactions aimed at improving farmer’s awareness/knowledge to increase crop yields and net returns.

Eligibility of the Award: All fertilizer companies in India are eligible for the award. Assessment shall be based on innovative ICT initiatives/digital transactions undertaken by a company in last 3 years. The ICT initiatives should focus on education/extension system; value addition to agriculture, availability and use of weather forecast; education initiatives for farmers with knowledge for understanding and adoption of latest and improved farm practices, and impact assessment of ICT interventions.

How to Apply: Soft copy of PDF of synopsis enumerating the i) Basic criteria for the ICT initiatives/digital transactions; ii) Details of the interventions used; iii) Technology used and its User-friendliness; iv) Content and Monitoring of the system; v) impact assessment of interventions should be mailed to [email protected] . Synopsis should also provide other details as scalability and replicability of the ICT interventions; recognitions and awards; sample case studies with contact details.

7. FAI Award on Promotion and Marketing of Micronutrients

Nature of the Award: Trophy and Certificate.

Purpose of the Award: To encourage and recognise the best promoter and marketer of micronutrient fertilizers in India.

Eligibility of the Award: All fertilizer companies and micronutrient manufacturers in India are eligible for the Award. Assessment shall be based on micronutrients promotion, marketing and business development efforts during the past 5 years.

How to Apply: Application in the PDF format should be mailed to [email protected] enumerating the significant promotion, marketing and business development work done by the company in the field of micronutrients during the past 5 years.

Last date of receiving the application for awards is 15th September, 2023.

Important: Only soft copies of the application in the PDF format will be entertained
